 Well, we finally did it. After a lot of planning, Robin and I topped off the tank and put the pedal to the metal on our cross-country "Road Trip" lasting three weeks.

A few interesting statistics from our journey:

-          22-day trip logging more than 8,350 miles (averaged more than 380 miles per day)

-          Traveled through 19 states meeting two state troopers (Wyoming and Ohio)

-          Shot more than 7,500 photos

-          Average speed around 50 mph, high speed 101 mph

-          Only encountered a couple of hours of driving in the rain

-          Highlights of some National Landmarks (NL), National Parks (NP)_ and monuments visited include:

o   Mt. Rushmore, SD (N.P.)

o   Custer, SD (State Park)

o   Devil’s Tower, WY

o   Yellowstone, WY (N.P.)

o   Yosemite, CA (N.P.)

o   San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge, CA

o   Alcatraz Island, CA (N.P.)

o   Salinas and Monterey, CA

o   Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills

o   Universal Studios California

o   Petrified National Forest, AZ (NP)

o   Loretto Chapel and Chimayo Church, NM

o   Alamo, TX (N.H.L.)

o   Graceland in Memphis, TN (N.H.L.)

          Also visited two Marine Corps Bases in California; got some kicks on Route 66; experienced Standin' on a corner in Winslow, AZ; before we went to Luckenbach, Texas.
